Lindsay Munroe has followed up her debut EP from last summer with new single ‘Need a Ride’ – and it’s her most confident and assertive release to date. Opening with the same kind of menace as PJ Harvey but also bringing in the raw honesty of Marika Hackman, the song is a celebration of the amount of freedom and independence being single in your mid-20s can bring (Lindsay says it’s a song for pandemic times where ‘unless you live with a partner, lockdown is essentially a time of government-enforced celibacy’): ‘I don’t need another body’; ‘When I wake up in the morning I think about how boring our lives could be’
