Story: Limbo starts as Omar (El-Masry) is dealing with the change in his life when he is sent to a small Scottish island community. He is joined by a host of other asylum seekers and Helga (Knudsen) is preparing them for entering society.

As the group get to know each other, they start to learn about the dreams they have. They see they want the same thing, a chance at a normal life away from the bloodshed of their homeland. However, the system sees them waiting for the next chance in life.

Verdict on Limbo

Limbo is a drama showing the empty life asylum seekers are left to live while waiting to see if they get accepted into the UK. It follows a group of asylum seekers from different countries learning the culture while waiting to see if the paperwork will go through.

This is a movie that gets to show the daily struggle that asylum seekers must go through. It highlights just how helpless they become waiting, not being able to help the society they wish to join. Knowing they could be sent back to a country filled with dangers. The performances are great and show the helpless feeling the characters have, as they just want to start their own lives. It hits hard and has a big message to highlight how people just want a chance in life.

Final Thoughts Limbo is a powerful wonderfully acted movie.
