Like Paper By Miriam Aust & Sebastian Amelung

This beautiful lamp seems to be made of folded paper, but is in fact made out of slewed concrete. It's a startling piece that is tougher than it first appears. Although the manufacturing follows certain paper patterns, the completed shades develop individuality through their own edges, kinks and creases. Each unique Hangover lamp is made by hand in Germany.

The studio aust & amelung by dipl. designer Miriam Aust and Sebastian Amelung is based in Kassel, Germany creates and develops furniture, interiors and exhibition architecture.
As furniture designers, they are interested in the way we interact with objects in our daily life and the changes that happen through new developments in society. This kind of observation leads to new products. Reduction and simplicity define the form as well as the function of their objects. Materials are used not only in consideration of their technical properties, but also based on their connected associations. The designers have been distinguished with prizes such as the Interieur Kortijk 2010 Grand Prize and the Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Gold 2013.
