Life: Snow, Snow, Snow

By Mpartyka @mpartyka2
Hello friends,
A quick post today as I'm consumed, like many, with the Olympics. I have been watching/listening day and night.
Snow: We had ten inches of fresh snow last week, bringing four snow days along with the storm.  The poor kids... they will be in school all summer.
As mentioned last week, new snow is all I need to snowshoe.  Imagine the surprise I gave a gal at the park, playing with a new filter on her camera when I appeared from the woods.  To my delight, she sent me this photo.
Reading: I finished The Splendour Falls last week and had my reaction to the book confirmed by many reviews on goodreads.  I will write my review this week.
Did you know the movie Endless Love looks to be based on a book?
For some reason, the book isn't linked to the movie though. I wasn't able to find any reference to author Scott Spencer, but the names in the movie match the book.  I wonder what this is all about... the book was published in 1979 and nominated for the National Book Award.
The movie looks a bit creepy. The book is about a boy obsessed with a girl and about to get creepy in a 'young love can make you crazy' way.
I'm close to half way through the book... it's so good.  The writing is amazing. There's very little conversation so the reader gets to know David and his inability to move forward from his love for Jade.
Synopsis: Endless Love tells the story of David Axelrod and his overwhelming love for Jade Butterfield.

David's and Jade's lives are consumed with each other; their rapport, their desire, their sexuality take them further than they understand. And when Jade's father suddenly banishes David from the house, he fantasizes the forgiveness his rescue of the family will bring and he sets a "perfectly safe" fire to their house. What unfolds is a nightmare, a dark world in which David's love is a crime and a disease, a world of anonymous phone calls, crazy letters, and new fears — and the inevitable and punishing pursuit of the one thing that remains most real to him: his endless love for Jade and her family.
Have you read this book? What are you reading this week?
