Posted on the 20 May 2022 by Nftnewspro

Another NFT project got hacked. Now, it’s the Llamascape NFT series, the project behind Llamaverse. The hackers aimed their Discord server and about 30-40 ETH was taken by the scammers.

How did the LIamascape Discord hack occurred?

On Llamascape’s Twitter account, they shared that they are still investigating the hacking fact. Anyway, they assume that one of their team members was social engineered. The risk account replaced a role with an alt account, and this is what the scammers used to exploit the holders of the Llamascape NFT series.

What LIamascape NFT series promised holders after hacking act

Initially, Llamascape NFT explained that they are responsible for what occurred, not the community. In the same vein, they promised to refund money to people who have been hacked by their Discord server.

Then, they guaranteed the holders that they will take better security practices. Plus spending $6,000 to stop webhook hacks, the NFT project will provide a new approach for their admins. That is to say, the admin alt accounts, if any, can just be used for admin reasons like announcement.

Finally, the Llamascape will host a training session for each admin to be fully informed.

Final Words

Llamascape NFT series is the only other project which encountered a hacking incident on their Discord server. A few days ago, Lazy Lions NFT Discord was also targeted by scammers, and the previous month even OpenSea’s Discord was hacked.
