IFA 2013 is yet to start, but LG has already presented their latest tablet (of which we heard only rumours up to now). The Korean company revealed this morning the much talked about G Pad 8.3 in a press release. The tablet includes a Full HD display and Android 4.2.

In recent weeks we ran across G Pad in many rumours and reports, and most rumours now seem to have been correct. The G Pad 8.3 is a high-end Android tablet with some interesting specifications. The tablet is the first new LG model since the fiasco of Optimus Pad.

As mentioned, the G Pad 8.3 is an interesting device in terms of specifications and features. For example, the tablet has 8.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels. Under the hood we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.7GHz, combined with 2GB of RAM and a 4600mAh battery. It will also feature a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

The internal storage memory of the tablet is 16GB but this can be expanded via a microSD card reader. At the front of the tablet is a 1.3 megapixel camera for video calls and at the back a 5.0 megapixel variant for photos and videos. Wireless communication takes place via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0 with support for Wi-Fi Display and Mira Cast. The tablet has a weight of 338 grams and is only 8.3 millimetres thin.

As for the software, the G Pad Android 8.3 comes with 4.2 Jelly Bean with some modifications and additions by LG. So there is an app that lets you connect the tablet with a smartphone and thus have improved multitasking in Android.

The LG G Pad 8.3 is launched in white and black version, both equipped with a metal back. The price is still not known, and it will be announced at the official presentation at IFA 2013.
