LG G6 To Be Launched in India On Monday

LG has confirmed that it’s latest flagship the LG G6 will be launched in India on Monday i.e. 24th April. The company has sent out media invites for the event.

The LG G6 smartphone was initially launched by the company at MWC 2017 in February and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The highlight feature on the smartphone is its 5.7-inch QHD+ (1440×2880 pixels) FullVision display with an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio instead of the regular 16:9 that we are used to seeing. The phone was launched with the new UX 6.0 that as per LG is optimised for the 18:9 aspect ratio.

The LG G6 comes with a Glass 3 at the front, and a Gorilla Glass 5 at the back giving te device a premium look and feel. The unique aspect ratio and thin bezels makes single handed operation pretty easy.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The LG G6 was launched in two storage variants – 32GB and 64GB. The storage on the LG G6 is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB).

The G6 comes with with a dual-camera setup at the back with two 13-megapixel sensors – one for wide-angle shots, and the other for regular shots with 71-degree lens and OIS 2.0. At the front, the G6 features a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree lens. A 3300mAh non-removable battery powers the smartphone.

LG has taken a bold step by doing away with the ambitious yet disastrous LG G5’s modular design. G6, however, has all the ingredients to be a blockbuster device.Given the fact that Samsung has launched its Galaxy S8 in India, this is the ideal time for LG to also up its game.

As per the reports by NDTV Gadgets, LG G6 will be priced somewhere between Rs. 53,000 to Rs. 54,000, and some cashback offer of up to Rs. 7,000 is also applicable for those who pre-order the device.
