Let Them Be Little.

Let them be little. I'm pretty sure I should have this tattooed on my forehead at this point. It scares the bejeebies out of me that my kids are growing up so quickly, and I so badly wish I could slow time down. The whole "enjoy it while you can" thing is super depressing but unfortunately, true. Because you blink, and they're another year older.
I sometimes forget that my son is only three. Because he's a very intelligent and advanced three, I sometimes hold him to higher standards and expect him to be able to do certain things. I don't want him to miss out on the joys of being little, so there are so many times I have to stop myself and let him do his thing.
So what all of my couch pillows are on the floor for the 80th time that day? And he's using my couch as a trampoline?
So what he wants to eat 5 Reese's and sneaks 5 more while I'm not looking?
So what I have to pick up every single sock, toy, or block off the ground when he's in bed?
Because one day, I'll miss these little things. I'll miss the chaos, the mess, and cleaning. I'll miss it all.
I saw this somewhere a long time ago and it truly hit home with me.

My son changes outfits three times a day. Yes, it's a pain in the butt but no, I don't mind. Because I love to see how proud of himself he is when he picks out an outfit. He makes an effort to show me and tell me exactly what type of underwear, shorts/pants, and shirt he's wearing. He puts on his socks and asks me if he did it the right way. Then puts on his shoes and when I tell them they're on the wrong feet, he smiles and says "that's okay mom."
I know that one day, I'm not going to have these tiny socks and little undies to wash. And that makes me all the more thankful to have so much of it now.

We recently tried the all free clear products and I loved them. Little ones have sensitive skin, and the all free clear products are the #1 choice by Dermatologists, Allergists, and Pediatricians. They're free of dyes and perfumes and are strong enough to fight stains but gentle enough for the entire family. No need to buy specific detergent for your little ones, all free clear detergent has you all covered.

I love to let my kids play and get dirty. They get baths every night so that's all the more reason to take full advantage of it during the day. Whether it's jumping in puddles or kicking dirt and rocks around, they deserve this time. They need this time to use their imaginations and enjoy the simple things in life. I don't want to shelter them, but I want them to enjoy the innocence that comes with being a child. Everyone is always in such a rush to grow up... but it's totally a trap. Being little is the best, and having the freedom to do that is one of the greatest gifts I can give them.

Don't worry about the dirty clothes, messy floors, or unmade beds. Because one day, you're going to miss all of that. For now,  let them be little.
