Let’s All Go Down the Strand No.4

By Lwblog @londonwalks

Stalking The Strand with camera and pen, David Tucker presents a few new angles on one of London's most famous thoroughfares…

Feel like stopping by the Strand aviary again?
This chap – or do I mean these chaps? – for example.

The heads. The tongues. The in extremis “posture”. The thorns trying to pass themselves off as feathers on “their” neck. The wing feathers that are like notched blades. Notched blades alternating with skewers. The shield and its crenellated sash. And as for those scaly legs and their prepuce of scale – ugh and double ugh. This tweety bird is what nightmares are made of. Doubtless has plenty of his own. You’ll never see a better depiction of psychosis.
Or of indigestion.
But hey, it’s the Strand. It’s where the wild things are. A London Walk costs £9 – £7 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com
