So I've found a single story worthy of 5-stars! You could knock me over with a feather! This is an exemplary piece of writing, with drama and tension packed into so few pages worthy of a 200 or 300 page novel. It felt like I was reading a much longer piece. The plot and character are as developed as you'd expect from a much longer work. Let Her Be explores failed relationships, stalking, mental breakdowns, suicide attempts and sexual obsessions. I love the fact you're in Will's head the whole story as he meanders his shaky present, trying to get mentally well after a failed suicide attempt while having flashbacks of his relationship with his ex and how his obsessive jealousy ruined it. The one thing that keeps him going is his belief that his ex is the one who called 999 when he tried to kill himself and saves his life. When he learns the truth will it push him over the edge? I've never read a full novel by the author before but look forward to discovering more of her writing.
