A few more images from the end of Day 2 – which was actually our first full day in Barcelona.
We ended up having dinner at the “best burger place.” The burgers are made to order, the rolls fresh and the options are fantastic. I chose a beetroot/bacon burger and yes, it was mighty, mighty fine. With the burgers of course we had beers (almost as universal a combination as peanut butter and jelly.)
When you drink, you eventually need to use restrooms. Many restaurants are tiny little holes in the walls and there just isn’t a lot of room for bathrooms. It’s not unusual to see signs like this.
Which open to bathrooms that typically look like this (multiple stalls.)
Again, it’s not a big deal. Everyone behaves and respects each other. If you need to use a bathroom, you do and that’s that. Compare this to the dramatic discussion regarding public bathroom usage in the United States.
I seem to find a lot of money when I walk (I think it has much to do with the fact that because of a balance issue I have to look where I place my feet) and look what I found on that first day! Only the most adorable euro coin ever made.
Lastly, we chose this statue as our meeting point whenever we needed to hook up with people. A naked woman in the park, pretty remarkable and obvious, right? Of course when we chose this statue, we didn’t really look around.
Apparently Spain is big on naked ladies just about everywhere. Who knew?
From then on, our meeting point was called the “naked white lady in the water.”
