Les Minots in the 11th: Goodness, Me Oh My, How Did We Find Ourselves There?*

By Johntalbott

3.0 Les Minots, 41, rue Servan in the 11th, 01.40.21.01.28, open 7/7, except Brunch Sunday lunch-time and closed Sunday dinner, *was open on Mondays (the new Saturdays), was supposed to have a Mediterranean spin to it and had crept up on my "list" for the past 15 months, so what did we have to lose?  Lots it turned out.

I arrived a bit earlier than my colleague and scoped the carte - terrific, gambas, calamari, daurade in full portons & demi's - oh boy!  But "no, M.Talbott, that's the dinner carte, faggedaboudid."  "We have simplified the menu for lunch," sure.  Crash to floor.

OK, deal with it buddy.

Madame had the croustillants of Brie and I the plate of charcuterie and both were pretty good, albeit hardly ground-breaking.

We both had the confit de canard from Metro with blackened, disgustingly burned-looking potatoes which had never seen Perigord, far less Sarlat; but you know, the duck was better than the Salad Minots or orchiettes carbonera which we saw our neighbors served which were swimming in cream.

We terminated with chocolate-raspberry "nems" which were nothing.

With a bottle and glass of Faugeres, no bottled water and pretty poor bread and coffee, our bill wa 67.50 E.

Go?  I devoutly hope not.
