Under the Patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Tourism Mr. Fady Abboud and in association with the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night Clubs and Pastries in Lebanon, the first edition of the Gourmet Week will give the culinary scene a new flavor.
Taking place between the 4th and the 10th of November 2013, the event is a celebration of the finest culinary experiences in Lebanon. Initiated by Hospitality Services, Gourmet Week aims at encouraging Lebanese to become more educated about food.
During this special week, more than 40 events will take place all across Lebanon with the same objective: to make the Lebanese learn about food and love food. It features a week full of culinary indulgences at the best restaurants and culinary establishments across Lebanon, and offers everyone the opportunity to dine in style with special promotions specially offered during this week.
“Food is part of our culture and very existence; it has also become an important component in tourism. The unique thing about Lebanon is that we have a rich gastronomy culture and a diverse culinary selection with choices from all over the world. I wish the Gourmet week would be a boost to economy and to tourism m and to show what Lebanon has to offer in term of gastronomy” said his Excellency the Lebanese Minister of Tourism Mr. Fady Abboud.
A real culinary adventure with a rich array of color, activity and culinary delights, Gourmet week in his first edition ever has already attracted some of the biggest names from the culinary world.
Above and beyond dining, the one-week-event will entertain the palate and the other senses of the Lebanese throughout a whole week of eclectic culinary based activities, like cooking classes, tasting sessions, demonstrations, site visits and the third edition of the Beirut Cooking Festival. Our aim is to promote culinary heritage, as well as supporting local producers and artisans. The celebration is the opportunity to remind locals and visitors of the richness and unique experience Lebanon has to offer in terms of Gastronomy.
