Story: Leave the World Behind starts when Amanda (Roberts) decides to take her husband Clay (Hawke) and children Rose (Mackenzie) and Archie (Evans) away for the weekend. They head to a beach resort where a strange event occurs on the beach.

However, that was the first of the strange events. The owners of the rented home G.H. (Ali) and his daughter Ruth (Myha’la) return home due to a complication. Overnight alerts went out and now the two estranged families find themselves dealing with uncertainty as to what has happened. They must team up to survive a world that seems to have come to an end all of a sudden.

Verdict on Leave the World Behind

Leave the World Behind is a thriller following two different families who find themselves trapped when an unknown event occurs. It sees them lose connection to the outside world and need to figure out what to do to survive. However, they don’t know whether they can trust each other or how long the problem will last.

This is a movie that shows another vision of how the wealthy would live in the early days of the end of the world. It shows them looking down on anyone else who might need help. This does a lot of speculating on what has happened, rather than putting any focus on what has happened. There are deeper conversations on treating people equally and how reliant people have become on technology. We get some incredible action sequences which create disturbing moments in the movie. However, this doesn’t seem to make it easy to understand the troubles they are going through and holds way too much back from the truth.
