Lavender Sugar Scrub
Natural home made products couldn’t be any easier! This week I’m featuring lavender crafts and recipes, 5 ways to use this favorite herb in the garden.
Last post was all about using lavender to scent your home with these lavender wands. This post is going to use ingredients in your kitchen to create a luxurious body scrub to use in your beauty routine.
What you need is:
Lavender Flowers
White Granulated Sugar
Organic Coconut Oil
Organic Scented Essential Oil of your choice ( I used a Lavender and Bergamot mix )
Favorite recycled jar
Gather fresh lavender flowers either by pulling them off the stem or from collecting them while doing the other projects listed.
Put enough sugar in a bowl that would fill your jar with the Lavender Sugar Scrub. Add lavender flowers and a couple tablespoons or so as required of coconut oil with a few drops of essential oil.
Start adding the coconut oil in stages. It was a hot day when I did this so the oil was liquified but it doesn’t matter if it’s solid.
Mash the oil along with a couple teaspoons of flowers into the sugar until you get a crumbly texture that holds together when pinched.
I put my scrub into a flat wide mason jar with a sealer lid and screw top to keep it fresh.
Use the Lavender Sugar Scrub as an all body exfoliate, great on gardener’s hands and for smoothing the skin on your feet.
Never buy store bought scrubs again!
Be sure to check back in a couple of days when I release an edible lavender recipe…
