Latest Art and News (08/18/2020)

Hello everyone!

I know that I haven't blogged much lately. Blame writer's block! My usual busy schedule has also prevented me from getting out of the house to take photos. So all in all, poetry and photography have been a little on the back-burner.

Which is ok, since I needed a new challenge. For the longest time, I had wanted to learn how to turn my photos into digital paintings or drawings, and then add my own twist to them. So, two weeks ago, I opened Topaz Studio and Gimp and started practicing. Many tutorials and hours later, the fun has not stopped. What a relaxing way to spend my evenings!

Without further ado, here is a roundup of what I have been up to.

Kindku Writing Prompt Challenge

Our latest prompt is "Be Free". Submit to us for a chance to be featured in a future issue of Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal.

PoArtMo Anthology

I am very excited to report that our call for submissions to our PoArtMo Anthology has been very successful. We have received a huge number of entries.

As always, David and I are blown away by your talent and positivity, and it has become very hard to pick the pieces that will go into the anthology!

With that said, if a piece is not selected, we may choose to include it in a future issue of one of our magazines. 🙂

New reviews!

Great news usually comes in pairs. Two of my books have received lovely reviews. Here they are below:

"This delectable concoction of Haiku-inspired poetry forms- Sixku & Kindku, ticks all the aesthetic boxes. It's always a challenge to express oneself succinctly, but this instructive & picturesque book has achieved precisely that. For lovers of poetry in all its forms, this book is delightfully designed with poems interspersed with scenic photographs by one of the co-authors Cendrine Marrouat herself."

Grasshopper Bot

"Cendrine Marrouat and Isabel Nolasco capture the beauty of life in Photography of Life and Living: The Black and White Book! This artistic collection of black and white photography depicts both people and nature under different themes like movement or growth. I really found this one to be very moving, especially in the artful way it shows the connection between all life and the world. This is a quick read, but no less meaningful and will stick with you long after putting it down!"

Joshua Grant

"This book is about life. The simplicity, good taste and beautiful black and white photos and words in it make us feel like we all belong to the same world, regardless of our position on earth.

Thanks for sharing with us a little of your feelings as photographs and writings.

Congratulations to Isabel Nolasco and Cendrine Marrouat for their sensibility, I'll be waiting for new projects."
