Laser cut fashion is cool. In fact, all it took was working on this blog post to totally find myself coveting something with this treatment. I’m not sure if it will be this laser cut shirt from Modcloth, that I am using to feature in today’s One Item, Five Fashionable Ways, but being a bit of an accessories freak it will more than likely be a pair of shoes or a handbag. And that is the beauty of this trend. You can do it a lot or a little, accessorize with a laser cut piece or wear an entire laser cut top, dress and even shorts. The choice is yours. It is a simple tank that can really give your basics a run for their money. Plus, you can easily take it from summer to fall.
How to Style a Laser Cut Top
Outfit #1
In this first outfit I styled this laser cut top with a basic pair of white J. Crew shorts, a pair of gold Vince Camuto sandals, green earrings and this fun tote from LeSportsac. If you are starting to grow weary of your basic shorts of and top look the laser cut detail adds some excitement.
Outfit #2
Looking to jazz up a suit? This laser cut top can be layered underneath a jacket and skirt, like this suit from Reiss, to add some feminine pop. The outfit is finished professionally with a pair of stud earrings from Stella & Dot, a pair of Charles David pumps and a blush colored handbag from Coach.

Just because something is trendy does not mean you have to forgo timeless, feminine elegance. Here, I styled this top with a white duster coat from French Connection, a pair of navy cropped pants from Boden and finished the outfit with a pair of blue metallic ballerinas, a Ted Baker printed clutch and pair of pink Bauble Bar earrings.

When combining laser cut fashion with a print you have to be careful. Laser cutting often looks like a print in itself. However, it can be done. Just watch the scale of the print if the laser cut is large and go for more of a smaller or ditzy print in what you pair with it. Here, the Tory Burch skirt works because of the small print. I finished the outfit with soft, neutral gray using a necklace from Banana Republic and a handbag from Rebecca Minkoff. For shoes I chose a pair of blush sandals from Kate Spade.

As the weather starts to get cooler, don’t pack your tanks away. They are great for layering under jackets and cardigans. Here, I put this laser cut top under a flyaway Lucky Brand cardigan and styled it easily with jeans, a statement necklace, shooties from Anthropologie and added a blue handbag for some contrast color.
