In India, an automobile to be driven should have : a valid Registration Certificate, Fitness Certificate, Road tax, Pollution certificate and valid Insurance covering TP risks .. the driver should possess a valid Driving License ~  while fine would be imposed, vehicles are generally not seized !  .. .. and will that happen to a politician or any influential person is often the Q !

Cheshire (archaically the County Palatine of Chester)  is a county in the north west of England, bordering Merseyside and Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, Staffordshire among others.  The county covers 905 square miles (2,344 km2), is mostly rural, with a number of small towns and villages supporting the agricultural and other industries which produce Cheshire cheese, salt, chemicals and silk.  Sir Ian Terrance Botham was born here yet  it is not a strong team in Cricket.

Manchester City Football Club is based in Manchester,  competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. Founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), it became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894. The club's home ground is the City of Manchester Stadium in east Manchester, to which it moved in 2003, having played at Maine Road since 1923.  In 2008, Manchester City was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group for £210 million and received considerable financial investment in both playing staff and club facilities, including the £150 million Etihad Campus in east Manchester.  In 2019, they won four trophies, completing an unprecedented sweep of all domestic trophies in England and becoming the first English men's team to win the domestic treble. Manchester City's revenue was the fifth highest of a football club in the world in the 2018–19 season at €568.4 million. In 2019, Forbes estimated the club was the fifth most valuable in the world.

Benjamin Mendy is a French professional footballer who plays as a left back for Premier League club Manchester City and the France national team. After coming through Le Havre's youth academy, Mendy began his playing career with the club's reserve side in 2010, eventually being promoted to the first team a year later.  Mendy made his senior debut for France in 2017 after previously being capped by France youth teams. He was chosen in France's squad for the 2018 World Cup which they won.

Now the car ~ Lamborghini based in Sant'Agata Bolognese, is owned by the Volkswagen Group through its subsidiary Audi. Ferruccio Lamborghini, an Italian manufacturing magnate, founded Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A. in 1963 to compete with established marques, including Ferrari. The company was noted for using a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. Lamborghini currently produces the V12-powered Aventador and the V10-powered Huracán, along with the Urus SUV powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine.  Their website claims that Lamborghini created the Aventador SVJ to embrace challenges head-on, combining cutting-edge technology with extraordinary design, while always refusing to compromise. In a future driven by technology, it’s easy to lose the genuine thrill of driving. But in the future shaped by Lamborghini, this won’t be left behind, because there will always be a driver behind the wheel.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ  is a luxury car beyond reach of most Indians as its on road price in Delhi is a staggering 7.11 crore with Insurance costing approx. 25 lakhs !!   The news is Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy is facing a race against time to save his Lamborghini from being crushed. Mendy, 26, was pulled over at 5am on November 15 in Prestbury, Cheshire. The motor, with a French number plate, was taken to Macclesfield police station and is now at a secure pound. Mendy, who joined City in 2017, bought the car in France and was pictured driving it in Cannes this summer. The SVJ, which can do 0-60mph in three seconds, is an improved version of the Aventador S, with only 900 made.

According to the Cheshire Police website, any motorist who needs to reclaim a vehicle has just 14 days to do so. As reported by The Sun, Mendy's Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, which is worth £475,000, was seized by police  when Mendy was stopped by police for driving without a valid license or insurance.  The report states that the left back has yet to provide any documentation. In most cases police keep cars for 14 days before selling it at an auction or having it destroyed. Twenty days have now passed since Mendy's car was taken.

Interesting ! and one cannot but exclaim that law enforcement is never this strict in our country
