Lakshitha 5/82 Takes Bowling Honours at Day Two

The promising off spinner Lakshitha Manasinghe had a fine figures of 5 for 82 as Austrlia’’A’ were bowled out for 254 in the first innings against Sri Lanka ‘A in their second day of the second four day game played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International cricket stadium Hambantota yesterday .

Sri Lanka ’A’ declared their overnight total of 330 for 9 wickets in the first innings and they were 27 for 2 wickets at close with a lead of 103 runs. Skipper Kamindu Mendis (14) and night watchman Mohamad Shiraz (1) were at the wicket at close.

Earlier Australian ‘A’ openers Matt Renshaw (35) and skipper Marcus Harris (39) put on a 68 runs stand. The 29 year old wicket keeper Jimmy Peirson was the most successful batter scoring an unbeaten 67 in 112 balls with three fours while former Nalandian off spinner Lakshitha Manasinghe finished with best figures of 5 for 82 in 25 overs spell well supported by paceman Dilshan Madushanka (3 for 43) and leg spinner Suminda Lakshan (2 for 67).
