Lakes have shared new single ‘Kids’ ahead of the release of the song on a 7″ called ‘This World of Ours, It Came Apart’ via The LP Cafe (UK) and Know Hope Records (US) on 24 July. The song features a guest appearance on vocals from Dan Lambton (Real Friends) and was recorded by Steph Carter (Gallows), produced and mixed by Neil Strauch (Owen, Owls) and mastered by Zach Weeks.

The crystal clear twinkly emo sound of ‘Kids’ is packed with stunning harmonies and gorgeous dual vocals – and a touch of glockenspiel – as the band discuss the importance of finding romance and losing love: ‘I don’t really know what’s been going wrong. I just feel as though we’ve been moving on. There’s no space to grow, time cannot move on. We’re six feet below’. They then demand ‘ask me a question’ before the swaying song ends in a sea of brass.
