Cresting the Wave This Week: London 2012, for being the first Olympics in which every country competing has entered female athletes. Yes it’s appalling that we have to celebrate such paltry concessions in 2012, and it’s not even nearly enough. But it’s a start.

Troughing the Wave This Week: London 2012: despite the aforementioned win for women at these Olympics, IOC President Jacques Rogge thinks it’s acceptable to hand out medals at male events, but to refuse to do so for women’s events. What a charmer.
