New Year's Day it's hard to find places open for lunch, especially that have great food and so when our good friend with whom we shared New Year's Eve suggested we eat at her cantine - L'Auberge Flora - we leapt. The carte is indeed limited - the "menu" of assorted hot and cold tapas, chicken & dessert didn't appeal to either of us so we turned to the 7 "suggestions." But first we had some wonderful focaccia, tapenade and olives with a Languedoc.
Colette chose the raviolis of lobster with a Thai bouillon that had a taste we couldn't pin down and I had the tourte of partridge with foie gras which had a rich sauce but was too sweet for my taste buds.
Our bill with great bread, good coffee, wonderful service and no bottled water, was 89.20E. Problem: Tables are still too jammed together.
