Kris Orlowski (@korlowskiband) has been honing the skill of unguarded songwriting since he started releasing his music in 2004.  The Seattle native’s debut release, Progression from a Child, was just a glimpse of the amazing potential possessed by Orlowski as he has grown tremendously in just a short time.  After adding four band members to his crew, which allowed him to develop a fuller, more distinct sound, Orlowski raised the bar further by teaming up with renowned Northwestern composer and violinist Andrew Joslyn. Their 2011 collaborative effort, Fremont Abbey EP, was played in Starbucks nation-wide, marking a milestone in Orlowski’s career. Lucky for us, the two have teamed up again and are releasing a brand new five song EP entitled Pieces We Are on October 16.

“Mountains”, the first single off Pieces We Are, showcases Orlowski’s achingly smooth and soulful voice, and is supported brilliantly by Joslyn’s intricate yet sturdy instrumentals. With the sweeping 17-piece orchestral backdrop found throughout the EP, the message of Orlowski’s music is thoughtfully amplified — its innate exuberance more accessible than ever. With his unique confidence and uncanny knack for sincerity, Kris Orlowski is an emerging standout in the field of contemporary folk.
