KIS, KJI Statues Unveiled at KIS University of Politics

A ceremony was held at Kim Il Sung University of Politics in Pyongyang on November 20 (Friday) at which statues of Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) .  Attending the ceremony were Gen. Pak Yong Sik (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), Gen. Ri Yong Gil (Chief of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Staff), other members of the KPA high command, KPA command staff, faculty and students of KIS University of Politics, faculty and administrators from other DPRK institutes of military learning and other KPA officers.

After the statues were unveiled, floral baskets from Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n), the Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Central Committee and Central Military Commission, the National Defense Commission [NDC], the KPA General Political Department, the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces, KPA units and military academies were placed in front of the statues.  Participants at the ceremony “paid tribute” to KIS and KJI “before the statues.”  According to KCNA, Gen. Pak Yong Sik “called for upholding Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for all ages as the eternal leaders of the WPK and the revolution and defending, preserving and glorifying their exploits for the military education.”  After being given a briefing on the statues, ceremony participants walked around them.
