Kirk Franklin Honored At The Inaugural Black Music Walk of Fame Ceremony

Kirk Franklin was honored during the inaugural Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame ceremony in Atlanta earlier this week.

Kirk's wife Tammy was on hand looking fierce in a white pantsuit and hat to support her husband.

On being honored for his work in Gospel music:

"It's overwhelming," Franklin told theGrio. "It's overwhelming to know where I come from and there's so many people who really are the architects of gospel music in America that were the soundtrack to a lot of changes that we saw in urban America's music, but they never got the recognition, they never got the notoriety."

Kirk was also joined by his youngest daughter, Kennedy, who spent some time talking with Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Thank you mayor @keishabottoms for being a part and showing my daughter what limitless possibilities looks like.
Jesus you're the Dopest
