Victor & Camillia’s wedding blessing was a day where all the elements aligned.  Having already had their legal ceremony back home in Brazil, this gathering was the chance to celebrate with British friends, with British traditions.

We had both tension and drama in equal amounts, along with beautiful moments of connection, with tears and hugs in abundance.

It was a beautiful summers day to be working as Kings Arms Christchurch Wedding Photographers.  The Bridal preparations were held within one of the best well lit hotel rooms I have ever seen.  Crisp light, sleek lines and modern decor, it’s a great room to work in.  A great team was assembled to create the look & styles for the day for Camilla and her girlfriends.

It’s not my job to rush anyone….just saying!

Getting great pictures that morning was simple, plenty of things going on in every corner of the room.  Unusual angles presenting with the Make Up Artist working.  I had never seen make up applied to subjects lying horizontal, so great…..New pictures kept flowing!

As things progressed the odd group selfie was taken, so it was time for me to play with reflections in mirrors and try something else, Halo’s around MUA as they worked, making use of their ring light.  Some emotional hugs between Camila and her Mum, then back with the Bridal preparations.

It was all going brilliantly until someone mentioned timelines.  Victor was already at the church, the guests were there, the ceremony should have started 30 minutes ago!

The bridesmaids were only just setting off, the church – St Marks in Talbot Village was 30 minutes away.  The traffic was bad, it was peak summer tourist season.  Frantic calls from Victor to Camilla and back again.  Victor – keep the vicar there, we will be there!  Was pretty much the gist of things.  The vicar did have other commitments to tend to and was duly concerned.

It was close to an hour and a half late we arrived.  Luckily the vicar was there and the string quartet were still playing!  Everything was still on.

Both the Victor & Camila were walked up the aisle by their mothers.  They had added a little twist on the standard ceremony entrance making their day more personal.

Capturing Victor & Camila’s day as Kings Arms Wedding Photographers was a great experience.  A new venue that provided fresh & creative opportunity.  Compositions that worked well, whilst keeping the all important spotlight on the people, the connection and the moments.

An amazing day spent with a cool couple.  Fingers crossed we’ll be back soon as Kings Arms Wedding Photographers.
