Recently Maxwell was sent a fantastic new set to try out, something which he had not played with before. Maxwell was sent a Kinetic Rock Crusher set. Maxwell loves anything associated with moving vehicles and construction which the Kinetic Rock Crusher set was themed as. I was excited to see his thoughts on the set which we had been sent.
As soon as the Kinetic Rock arrived, Maxwell got his hands on the box and set up the set with a little help from his Daddy. Inside the box, Maxwell was able to find: 340g of kinetic rock, 1 dump truck, 1 bucket, 1 rock crusher, 1 character figurine, 1 rock mould, 1 tool, 1 sign, 1 transformable sand box and a instruction guide. Due to there being a fabulous amount of bits in the box, the set was ready to be used straight away and I knew it would create hours of play.
Maxwell sat playing with the Kinetic rock quietly. Maxwell was amazed with the rock. He loved being able to shape the rock with the crusher. He was able to use the shaped rock on play road which was found inside the Kinetic Rock Crusher box. Whilst he had fun with the rock, the character from the set had fun driving the dump truck and having a rocky adventure. Unfortunately through play, the rock crusher did snap in half. The bottom stand disconnected from the top and we were unable to fix this however despite this, it did not affect Maxwell's play.
When it was time to pack away the Kinetic rock, we did find a little bit of mess however due to the rock particles being quite large, we found that the Kinetic rock was easy to identify on the floor meaning it was easy to tidy up. We were also able to roll the existing Kinetic Rock which Maxwell was playing with into a ball and roll the ball along the table to pick any stray pieces of rock up.
Something I love about this set is that it can be used over and over again and the rock does not dry up. It is a great toy to set imaginations wild and it is a toy which can be used throughout the year. The Kinetic Rock Crush has a RRP of £19.99 which I think is good due to the amount of pieces which the set comes with.
The creators, Spinmaster who created Kinetic Rock Crusher also sell add on packs for the set. Spinmaster sell add on packs of 170g of Kinetic Rock. Each add on pack contains a construction accessory. I think this is a fantastic idea as it allows children to increase their Kinetic Rock collection by being able to add little extras to their set with their pocket money.
Maxwell had previously been sent Kinetic Sand to review. You can check our review out to see how the sand was different from the rock. Maxwell and I love both sets and this year, we think they would make a fantastic treat for Christmas!
