Kind of Like Resolutions

By Jollygoodstudio @JollyGoodStudio
So we're in the 3rd week of January and I'm only just sharing my goals. I decided it would be best to take a little time to think over the main things I want to achieve in 2013, both personally and for Jolly Good. I also did some research on the best ways to do this and found this Etsy blog post to be super helpful. For my list I've kept it short and simple, looking at medium goals I want to tick off this year. Here's what I came up with:
* Take Jolly Good more seriously.
I love running Jolly Good and obviously want to keep getting enjoyment out of it, but I also want to treat it as a proper (albeit small) business. I want to make sure that I'm spending a good amount of time on it each week and I want to see it grow throughout the year. To make sure this happens I've set myself daily, weekly and monthly targets so that my progress in manageable and track-able.
* Learn more metal work skillz.
I loved attending the ECA and Vanilla Ink courses in 2012 and I want to add to the knowledge they gave me by attending more classes this year. I'm hoping to learn some new techniques while also becoming more confident in the techniques I've already learned. I'm getting ready to put this goal into action once Vanilla Ink announce more about their 2013 classes.
* Decorate the flat.
On a personal note, I'm hoping to get our flat in tip top condition so we can get it on the market and  ultimately buy a bigger place. I don't expect to achieve all that this year (the housing market is slow!) but I would at least like the decorating part done and dusted. This will mean we'll be ready for the next step and also that we'll get to live in a pretty place until that next step is completed.
* Read more books.
In 2012 I think I read a total of 3 books. I really enjoy reading but it is always very low down on my to do list. Now that I have my tablet I'm hoping it will make it easier for me to find books I like and I'll have them all to hand whenever I have a quiet moment. It seems to be working so far as I'm almost finished The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
* Have fun.
A number of friends and family are getting married this year so I have quite a few weddings and hen nights to look forward to. I plan to thoroughly enjoy them and any other adventures that may occur through the course of 2013. The above goals should also be fun to work on, well apart from decorating that is.
At this moment in time I'm excited about achieving my goals and feeling that they are pretty manageable.  I'm hoping this isn't just start of the year enthusiasm and that I can stick to my plans throughout 2013. Any tips on how to keep my motivation up in the coming months are greatly welcomed.
