Talking to Wired, Kim Dotcom explained how this new service is going be different from the old Megaupload. This time he will be using a special “Advanced Encryption Standard” to protect the privacy of the content, which allows only a user with a unique key to unlock the encryption to access the file.
This new method also allows Dotcom to stay safe from the DMCA, and avoid getting into trouble ever again. He also mentioned that the new Mega is going to be hosted on many servers around the world, to make it even harder to bring it down.
Mega is starting to sound really good. But it will definitely be a source for piracy as well, but this time no one can mess with them. Although, users will have to watch their backs because they will be on their own under these new protection improvements.
