Our friendship began as we were neighbors on the 5th floor of the 'ghetto high rise' called LSH freshman year 2000-01. Whoop! Whoop! The following year we (me & my UMD bestie jenny) decided that it would be fun to get a house with Kimberly- the three of us girls had a blast in our duplex on Colorado Street 2001-02. We happened to find this great space and lived along side three really awesome dudes as well; Chad, Joe & Nick. We had our ups we had our downs, the boys played way too many tricks on us and hide in our closets & the shared CREEPY basement scaring the PEE out of us way too many times! For my Junior Year 2002-03 I transferred to the UofM-Mpls and life went on (can you tell that i am keeping the story short). Anywhoo- after college Kimberly found herself in Chicago, then Arizona and now New Mexico- we remain great friends and I am so thankful that we have been able to keep in touch and remain a very important friend in my life.
And that my friends, is why, I had no problem spending a night out on the town, with a major cold having fun until 3:30am!
We met at Shebly's (Maid of Honor/Sister of the Bride) house in Forest Lake- and after a little primping & a bottle of bubbly we headed out for our dinner reservation at Spill the Wine in Uptown.
At dinner we had a great time sipping on wine while we enjoyed small plate after small plate after small plate- the scallions & fancy truffle fries were by far the BEST! Kimberly also had a great time opening her sassy but classy gifts from everyone around the table.
It was soon 10pm and our limo and limo driver, Billy, were waiting curbside. We popped two bottles of champagne, drove around downtown- jamming to music and taking a ton of fun pictures that are sure to last Kimberly a lifetime.
Our first stop was The Foshay's W Hotel and we headed up to the 27th floor to Prohibition!
I had been to this bar one other time during the weekend of my Cousin Amber's wedding. Last time I was pregnant and ordered a Rootbeer Float and YES the bartender made me one!! This time I enjoyed a chocolate martini (so did Kimberly) and at Shelby's request, I ordered the Bride-to-be a Peanut Butter Cup shot, her fav, down in the lobby bar, The Living Room!
Next stop was Rouge @ The Lounge, where we closed the bar down. Rouge was a lot of fun with having different rooms each having their own vibe and their own separate bar and DJ! I also realized this night that all men/boys out at the bar are either REALLY SUPER YOUNG of old man creepers, haha!
As I mentioned we closed the bar down and we found ourselves outside and hopping into a Dodge truck that Shelby's VERY kind and generous boyfriend, Kyle, was waiting in. He was SO nice to drive downtown at bar close to pick up 4 wore out but chatty, hungry, tried and drunk girls! haha
As we headed north, I dialed up the Blaine Taco Bell to confirm that drive thru was open until 3am- and it was... HALLELUJAH! Two crunchy beef tacos with sour cream and no tomato never tasted so good!
From Shelby's house (and because it was about a mile from my house) I text Aaron to see if he was up and he was AND he was able to pick me up so that I could end my night with checking on little Avrie before I crawled into the comforts of my own bed! GOOD NIGHT!
What a night and SO looking forward to seeing all these girls again AND the beautiful Bride-to-be on June 15th for Kimberly's wedding day in Duluth!
