So, we're in the midst of negotiating restaurants with friends and our (by now) old friends from the South and we settled on Kigawa in the 14th, which has stood the four of us well. Colette ohh'd and ahh'd over the flowers, I was overwhelmed by the four pages of menus plus one standing on the table, and all of us us tucked into the pumpkin soup with foie gras and Blaye with joy.
Monsieur had a terrine of chevreuil which was quite pleasant and Colette and I shared an escabeche of mackerel (unpictured) and what was called a tartare of daurade but looked exactly like the mackerel without the ends; pleasant but not earth-shaking.
Then M. had the ham, Madame the lobster, Colette the magret and I the (unpictured) sweetbreads: all of which were nice, albeit over-salted (I'm still gulping water 4 hours later).
Finally we had a millefeuille, two chestnut souffles and a batch of nice mignardises; again quite pleasant stuff but not over the moon.
Our bill, with no bottled water, 2 bottles of wine and two coffees - comes to 121.20 E a couple.
