It’s been serving the area since 1950–and we could certainly see why!

There’s a long wait time here but that’s okay if you know what I know! Down the stairs, you’ll find a very large area with tables and chairs–and board games! There’s a lot to dig through.
It’s the perfect place to pass the time. We broke into a heated game of Uno, playing two rounds before it was our turn to head on upstairs and sit down. It made the wait so much more comfortable and gave the kids some downtime, too. What a great idea!
Built in the 1800′s as a button factory, this is a really neat building! Mussel shells were once removed from the river, punched out with a special machine, leaving behind mother of pearl buttons that would then be hand-sewn onto cards.

But today? This Indiana town restaurant has a staggering menu of seafood, with a smidgen of steak and chicken thrown in. There’s also a full bar.
Known for their French Fried Shrimp, a house specialty since their beginning, well, you can guess what I claimed “dibs” on! Hubs went for the Seafood Platter: shrimps, scallops, clams, frog legs, and fish. Yes, that says frog legs!
Our oldest has always loved shrimp–it’s been his favorite thing for years. He was thrilled that shrimp was available on the kids menu. The youngest had a hot dog and fries. The oldest ate through his and then…he tried the frog legs…and loved them!
I could hardly bear to look but he thought that was pretty neat. None of us could stay out of the bread. It was wonderful! I can’t even explain it.
