A new complaint against comedian Kevin Spacey ("House of Cards") has been filed, Variety announces. He is accused of sexual assault on minors for acts dating back to the 1980s.
New charges against Kevin Spacey. Variety reports that two men are suing him for charges dating back to the 1980s, when both were 14 years old.
One of the men bringing the complaint is none other than Anthony Rapp, who is, for the record, the first person to have publicly accused the actor at the end of October 2017. Anthony Rapp explains that Kevin Spacey invited him to his home in 1986 and allegedly sexually assaulted him. Rapp had managed to hide in a bathroom and then run away from the apartment. The second complaint is currently anonymous, with the initials CD The facts here date back to 1981, when the alleged victim was 12 years old, and then met him on several occasions. The actor allegedly sexually assaulted him several years later, when he was 14.
Kevin Spacey has been charged several times since 2017 but the charges were dropped. Reason: a file weakened by the victim himself. In early July, we learned that his accuser, who claimed to have been assaulted in July 2016, withdrew his complaint, choosing to remain silent so as not to incriminate himself, invoking the 5th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, which gives the person the possibility of not having to testify against himself.
Other investigations are also underway in London. British Police are still investigating two sexual assaults involving him; one in 2005, the other in 2008, when the actor was artistic director of the London Old Vic theater. An internal investigation conducted by the management of the theater reported about twenty testimonies from people explaining that they had been harassed and assaulted by Spacey.
