In “True Blood’s final season, Tanya’s Kenya Jones, the wary but wise-cracking deputy sheriff of Bon Temps, La., is in a town overrun with vampire, werewolves and all kinds of supernatural shapeshifters. Tanya shares about her character:
“I think people like Kenya so much because she says the things they’re thinking but don’t say, and she says them in wry, odd and quirky ways.”
Tanya also reveals that Kenya will appear in five of the season’s 10 episodes.
“I think people will be surprised by Kenya’s direction in the seventh season. It’s very different. She’s motivated by very different things. It’ll definitely be worth watching.”
While the show hasn’t wrapped all 10 episodes yet, Wright completed her work on the series in spring.
“Was it sad? No, it’s done. Time to move on. I’m grateful for my time there but ready to start on something new … I was only supposed to do one episode in the first season and here we are seven seasons in. So as far as I’m concerned, ‘True Blood’ has been pure gravy.”
