safety for them as possible. However, the most important things you can do involve making sure your kids think and act safely whether you are around or not. The following are a few wise ideas that can help your kids to be a lot safer on any playground.

Teach Them How to Fight

Fighting isn’t generally a good idea in society. But inevitably, kids are going to get into scuffles. If your kids don’t know how to fight, they will be picked on by children who either do or can pretend they do. Knowing how to fight will most likely reduce the amount of danger your kids get into. Part of the reason being able to fight reduces violence is because children who can take care of themselves tend not to get into situations that make them fight.

Tell Them to Beware of Strangers

The odds say that if your child gets into a vehicle with a stranger, they will die very soon thereafter. In most cases, they will be sexually assaulted first. Strangers and your kids don’t mix well, so let your children know that strangers are not to be trusted. If your children know that a stranger can’t be trusted regardless of what they say, a lot of problems can be avoided.

Make Sure They Use the Buddy System

Kids tend to travel in either pairs or groups depending on their ages, so this works very well. The rule is that if one buddy gets hurt, the other goes for help immediately. This is a key way to keep serious accidents from becoming life-threatening, and it can even help keep your child from getting lost in an unfamiliar area.

Have Them Learn CPR

Children as young as six or seven can learn basic CPR. With this fairly basic knowledge, they can save lives. The more children who know basic life saving techniques, the safer all kids will be on the playground if something bad happens.

Get Them a Cell Phone

As irritating as it is that everyone these days carries a cell phone, there are few better ways to reach your children than a call or a text. A quick request to text you back can offer you a lot of reassurance, and a follow up call can tell you whether your child is safe or not. Some phones even come with a GPS, which can help you find your child if something has happened and you aren’t initially sure where they are.

Making sure your children are safe is not too difficult. If you teach them a few important lessons and outfit them properly, they should be safe. Ultimately, you need to give your kids freedom progressively as they earn it.
