Mary Liz, Chelsea, Mr. Buzz Bumbles and I spent the Fall Break of our senior year at ACL! To be totally honest, I’m more of a makeup junkie than a music buff, so I didn’t know what to expect from the Festival. But I had the BEST time listening to all the artists! Wet hair be damned, dancing in the pouring ran to Kings of Leon’s song “Sex on Fire” amplified my entire weekend. Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar and Vampire Weekend were also some of my favorites.
ACL cancelled the last day of the Festival because of heavy rain, so we spent the day exploring Austin. Eating, of course, was the main focus and the trailer eateries did not disappoint! Lard Have Mercy, Hey Cupcake! and Bananarchy were deep-fried deliciousness. There’s just no city even comparable to Austin- The scene offers such a unique vibe with its funky street art and original boutiques. I can’t wait for my next visit!
