kalimath temple is one of the most famous temple with cultural and traditional importance in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. it is the only sidh peeth in kedarnath valley, situated in an altitude of 6000 ft in the bank of holy Saraswati river. kalimath temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali mata. it is the legend about the temple that goddess kali mata killed devil Raktbeej here and goes underground hence Inside the temple, it is intersting to know about that there is no statue of goddess kali mata.

Religious Importance - kalimath is the supposed to be the most powerful divine place in kedar valley. although the temple is less popular visited due to low awareness about this place. this place is also popular for meditation because of peaceful area. a fair festival is also celebrated on the occasion of Navratra in kalimath temple. Navratra is a another holy festival of india. it a nine day long festival in which most of women keep fast in dedication of Goddess NavDurga. in the 8Th  day of Navratra called Astami (अस्ठ्मी) in Hindu calendar and dedicated to goddess Kal-Ratri (कालरात्रि). so this day is celebrate in a mid night as a Kal Ratri Festival here.this day the pooja performed outside the temple by the temple priest.
Traditional Importance - it is strongly believed in kedarnath valley that if one purchased any vehicle (either two or four wheeler), it is necessary to be worshiped vehicle in kalimath. after worship, the owner of vehicle put a photo of kalimath temple in the vehicle or bind a string with name of Goddess Kali Mata .
