Former MP and SJB member Hirunika Premachandra said that if people like Anura Kumara,
who hails from a party which killed children in front of their parents can do politics, a person like Prabhakaran could also engage in politics. Speaking at a political rally Premachandra said that when the JVP cadres came to kill her father at his house she was only a small child. She said that the JVP had killed children in front of their parents and also had murdered many other innocent people.
She added that the Prabhakaran did the same and said if Anura Kumara from JVP can do politics then Prabhakaran too should be able to do politics.
