The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) yesterday demanded the release of journalists who were covering the protest at Mirihana.
The JVP Politburo in a statement said that attempts are being made to suppress protests by intimidating the people and media personnel.
“It is apparent that the Government is trying to suppress media institutions,’’ the statement said.“The JVP Politburo condemns the attack on journalists who were covering the protest at Mirihana,” the statement said.
