Chimborazo Day
-- Mount Chimborazo, which is in Ecuador, is the highest mountain on Earth. Although it's technically shorter than  Mount Everest (elevation of 20,564 feet versus 29,029 feet), Chimborazo's location makes the difference—the equatorial bulge boosts its peak farther away from the planet's center than anywhere else. National Egg Day
-- Originally named Holy Roman Day of Eggs, by Claudius Nero Germanicus, third Emperor of the Julian-Claudian dynasty. It began after three years of lack of eggs due to a poultry pandemic. It lasted for about 500 years, then faded from use. Nowadays it is celebrated as a tribute to this basic ingredient in baking, which was first used by the Ancient Egyptians. Source

Doughnut Day
-- This holiday actually traces its roots all the way back to 1938, when the Salvation Army declared the first Friday of every June to be National Doughnut Day, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. It was originally intended to help the needy during the Great Depression.
