I think the only people that read this blog are my mom (thank you mom) and A.C.T. (thank you Ann). My blog statistics say that over 12,000 people per month come to this site and actually look at a couple of the pages, so maybe I'm wrong.
I was going to try and skip "Tuesday's Training Report" this week since I really did poorly with my running last week, but then I realized, I train for other things too - and last week my training was more about preparing for entering His kingdom of heaven when the time comes! Yes....I went there, and I'll explain why:
Monday - Rest - for the Hal Higdon 30 Week Full Marathon training plan, this was a rest day. The only thing I rested from was running. I went to work all day as a real estate closer (and we are slammed!). I dashed from work straight to church where I had praise team band practice. Immediately following practice, we have our Celebrate Recovery service. When I get home, I'm so charged up from the message and the music, I can't go straight to bed and sleep.
Tuesday - FAIL for running - I couldn't wake up early because I couldn't get to sleep the night before, but I made it to work on time, worked all day, once again dashed down to church for praise team practice because it was Fifth Tuesday and I was on the schedule to play drums for the service. Fifth Tuesday is a service our church has every month that has a fifth Tuesday. It's a baptism and healing service and it is very powerful. Once again, I arrived home so charged up from the baptisms, the message and the music, I couldn't go straight to bed and sleep.
Wednesday - 3 Miles on the Treadmill at Home: 14:15 / 14:05 / 14:10 - I forced myself to get up, but only in the nick of time to jump on the treadmill and crank out three miles. Nothing pretty about it, in fact, according to the "blah" face I posted on Dailymile about it, I'm thinking I wasn't very thrilled.
Thursday - FAIL for running - I took a vacation day from work and went to Busch Gardens. It was SO hot (I live in Florida and it's summertime = 95 degrees by 9am). We left by 1pm, went to the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City and had soup and salad for lunch, then went to Ikea and rambled around for a few hours followed by a trip to the music store to bang on other people's acoustic drum sets for a couple hours. When I arrived home, I saw that I had traveled 15,158 steps for a total of 6.85 miles.
Friday - FAIL for running - I tried to sleep in, but since it was trash day our dogs wanted to let us know that the trash people were picking up the trash - at 7am. UGH. Since we were up, we attended to many household chores that have been neglected for way too long but no running.
Saturday - FAIL for running - I was supposed to do a local 5K in the morning, but my allergies told me I was staying inside for as much of the day as I could. Even though it was an option, I didn't even wander into the room in my house with the treadmill, just saying. I did go to church at 4pm for - yep, you guessed it - praise team practice and then I played the drums at our 6pm service.
Sunday - FAIL for running - I played the drums for our 9:30am and 11am church services, did some grocery shopping, prepared my meals for the week, and stayed home. Again, didn't even wander into the room with the treadmill.
WEIGHT/EATING: Let's just not talk about it, okay? This card sums it up:
Prayed before I went to bed that God would gear me back up and back into the training plan so I'd have better running news to report next week.
GOALS FOR NEXT WEEK: Next week is Week 10 of Hal Higdon's "Novice Supreme" 30 Week Full Marathon Training Plan. Today is Tuesday and I did my 2 mile run this morning, so I'm back on track. I'll call last week a wash, dig my heels in and get back on track this week.
I am also back on track with my eating, and water consumption. It's so crazy hot, I KNOW I'll be indoors on the treadmill until September.
