Thought all the old-growth forest was protected in Humboldt? Think again. Humboldt Redwood is breaking their promise to not log old growth by planning to log large areas of acres of unentered and late seral/old-growth forest on the North Fork of the Mattole River..

You can help the movement to protect this ancient and unique ecosystem by calling Humboldt Redwood Company any time on MONDAY JULY 21st @ 707-764-4253

Again, that’s 707-764-4253 on MONDAY JULY 21st from 8:00 to 5:00 pm Pacific Time.

Some sample comments include:

“I’m concerned that your Long Ridge Cable and Long Reach THPs will destroy irreplaceable native forest that has never been logged before.”

“There should be a moratorium on all logging and road construction on Long Ridge while a more long-term resolution can be reached with members of the Mattole community.”

“The Mattole forest contains some of the last remaining lowland old-growth Douglas fir in California, as well as extensive areas of forest developing into old-growth habitat. These special areas should be preserved, not cut to be sold as Home Depot lumber.”
