Joy to the World, the Savior Reigns! Merry Christmas!

By Mohana21

Christmas, sure is one of the most wonderful days of the year! From watching the most hyped-yet-terrifyingly-stupid movie of the year on its eve to having an amazing lunch with my cousin’s family, going out for dinner with a close friend and ending the day with a wonderful movie, this year, Christmas was better than I expected!

I was sulking for most part of the month, even though December is my favorite month. Reason being, I was supposed to go to Mumbai and chill with my real close girlfriends and end the year with awesomeness but then some unforeseen circumstances happened and I had to cancel my trip. It left me real sad and cranky with everyone. I also wished I could be with my family and little brother, because even if I was really eager to take the trip and lay in the sun for a while, Christmas is more of a family occasion for me. And the dear old boyfriend, who was supposed to spend this day with me, he too decided he had more fuuuun things to do than be with the crank-head girlfriend, now, do you really blame me being pissed?
With not much option in hand, I still decided, that the day is far too good to just let it go to waste and instead, however I could, I made it the best holiday ever. Jesus, sure has his own plan in your life, even if it sucks initially, its all for the greater good! Patience 101 lesson learnt.

Go home Santa, you are drunk!

I woke up to some prepped food for today’s lunch menu and hurried to finish it. Never before did I cook such copious amount of food at a time and was really nervous if it would all go down well. Luckily for me, it turned out even better!

From tortilla wraps with spring onion and coriander spread, slice of salamis and peri peri sauce; red sauce pasta with eggplant, olives and mushrooms; peri peri grilled chicken; caesar salad to a chocolate rum cake with cream frosting, topped with oreos and cheesecake crust. It was all a HUGE success. I think its time to step into the professional culinary world!

As evening rolled, Monica, who has been going through some love-drama and desperately needed a fun dining out, so I did her make up (this is one of my favorite past times), did my make up, and we set out to see what Hauz Khas Village had in stock for us. The village has always been every food lover/ bloggers’ obsession and Christmas just turns it into a paradise. So we decided why not.

I am not always THIS shallow, but love how the colors came up here.

On previous encounters, I hated Imperfecto, genuinely, but this time, they were playing the best music and I wanted to show Monica their really pretty restroom (yes!) so in we ventured. Seated outside in their quite little eccentric patio corner, whilst Volare by Domenico Modugno played, it just transferred me to a blissful non-psychedelic trip since the song being one of my favorites used in my favorite holiday movie ever- the lizzie mcguire movie- you see I am still a teenager who refuses to grow up.

As Ricky Martin, Shakira and some unknown artists continued singing in the background, we placed our orders, roasted pork ribs with fries along with a bubble-gum shooter and a glass of rose wine for this classy lady right here!

Pardon me for the flash!

Funny how this time, imperfecto left me wanting more of their Mediterranean infused food and to satiate more of their unfitted jig saws, we will be back there soon, another evening, just like today, in the midst of all imperfections of an unplanned holiday, sitting there with my friend, sipping on some wine, I found perfection in letting things go and in simply sitting back- relaxing- savoring every moment of how life unfolds.

P.S. their website is a must visit- imperfecto.in
