Journey of a Child Inspired by Learning – Skola Toys

By Themommytale

Motherhood is not just about giving birth. With motherhood, comes lot of responsibility of teaching a child and ensuring a wonderful learning journey forever. Teaching your child in the beginning phase is not an easy task. You cannot ask a child who has just begun schooling to add numbers or recite poems. As a mom, even I faced these issues when my daughter joined the school for the first time. She used to jumble up the numbers and poems etc. As a mother, I always wanted to introduce most meaningful and enriching way of learning for my child. I strongly believe that play times is the best time to introduce meaningful learning methods or introduce the new concept to a child. Considering the fact that every parent wants their child to be bright child, even I had the same desire that led me to do some research.

Home is the best place to help the child learn new concepts and facts of life. Studies at school alone cannot help in overall development of a child. In order to enhance learning of both my kids I started looking for interesting educational toys and came to know about Skola Toys. In depth research helped me understand that Skola toys are well planned and well-researched for kids to introduce concepts like basic Maths, learning colors, patterns etc.

Today, I am sharing the journey of Skola toys with you all. LEARNING JOURNEYS DESIGNED AS PLAY - Journey of Skola

For me, the journey is a process to move forward with a vision and focus to bring change in existing methods.

An aim to learn something new. I remember one instance during early learning years of my daughter. She used to miss 6 and 7 whenever I asked her to count from 1 to 10. So, a friend suggested introducing abacus a small wooden one with colored beads. I asked her to count and she enjoyed the process of counting from the abacus that she never gave me a chance to complain. Since then we adopted the method of teaching her along with play and fun. This helped us in developing her base and affection towards studies and learning.

Today, after 7 years also we are proud to have adopted play based learning method. A child loves play based activity or activity-based learning. They are focused on following the process aptly than the end result. Toys are the instruments to play and learn that helps the child in exploring the world around them. A Child will definitely get engaged and show interest if he likes the toys or instrument of learning.

Since my daughter loves play based learning, we have introduced toys that help her in fun as well as learning. Also, I feel that every child is unique and has a unique way to learn and perform. Toys act as a tool for them in this learning process. This helps a child in overall development.

Motor Skills - Kids employ their gross motor skills by playing with toys by physical activity. A child feels and connects by touching and observing this helps in the development of fine motor skills.

By playing with a toy car or dressing a doll, they develop overall balance and coordination of the body.

Social Skills - Toys helps a child to interact and learn languages. As a Mom I always tell my kids to share, cooperate and keep their toys safely. This also helps them understand the value of things in life.

Cognitive development- Games and toys are the best way to engage kids. Toys help a child in improving concentration and memory. I remember I got new puzzle game for my daughter and she played the game twice and learned the pattern so quickly.

A child's learning journey is a lifetime essential base. All of us learn something different from various experiences. Similarly, kids learn from every step. From learning to read 3 letter words, becoming familiar with the sequence of numbers, starting to use 2 hands for some activities to becoming aware of cause and effect.

Last but not least I would like to say that every child is different and will learn things at different stages. Learning cannot happen in one day it's a gradual process and every step involved in the process is a learning that the child goes through. Similarly, every Skola journey takes children systematically through a series of experiences that are incrementally challenging enabling them to discover and learn something new at each stage. Every stage is facilitated by a toy playing with which will allow children to challenge themselves in an interesting way.
