Josh Mintz of Friend Slash Lover Hosting an Art Show

Josh Mintz who is the front man to the indie rock band Friend Slash Lover will be hosting a art show on Saturday, June 29th from 7pm-12am at the NOMAD Art Compound.  This event is free and will also have DJ Diabetic a.k.a Shepard Fairey (the guy who created the famous Obama “Hope” poster) doing a set while the event is going on.

The show will be called “It Was My Idea to Steal That Idea”.  One the interesting thing about the show is that many of the phases are etched onto mirrors and are displayed around the gallery at eye level.

Mintz has this to say:

“I’ve always been fascinated by the power of words, yet I’m sometimes reluctant to pair them with images, for fear of being too heavy-handed. The mirrors offered me a way out, since the viewer does most of the work by becoming the image…and the image is always changing.”

While trying to figure out the artist message the attendees will also be able to walk away with a wide selection of items on sale at the show.  These items are postcards, stickers, t-shirts, posters, fine art, archival prints and of course the hand-made, etched mirrors.

This event looks like a fun one and when you are there you will be able to hang out with Josh Mintz and Friend Slash Lover.  There will be great music, art what more could a person need?
