Josh Ibbett's South Downs Double

Mountain Biker Josh Ibbett has just broken the record for the South Downs Double; completing the South Downs Way non stop both ways, a route of 200 miles. Ibbett completed the challenge in a staggering 17 hours, 47 minutes and 30 seconds - around 15 minutes faster than the previous record.

The South Downs Way has long been something I have wanted to attempt in a day - making it a super hard, long 100 mile day in the saddle. For someone to do the tough hilly path twice in a day is an incredible feat of fitness and determination, in this quick time it's simply awesome. Well done Josh Ibett!
