Ceylon Teacher’s Union Secretary Joseph Stalin was remanded till August 12 after being produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Stalin was arrested by police on Wednesday evening for organizing a protest at Bank Street in Fort in violation of court order that prevented protests in the area. The arrest was made when he arrived at the Guru Gedara in Kollupitiya on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, National Bhikku Front’s Media Secretary Ven.Koswatte Mahanama Thera who was also arrested in this connection was ordered to be remanded till August 5.
