Jonny Ive to Leave Apple?

Without any explanation, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Design Sir Jony Ive has been removed from the company’s Leadership webpage. His full profile is still available on its original URL but the absence from the Leadership page is at best intriguing and at worst worrying.

Ive is responsible for the design of Apple’s most successful products – the iPod, the iPhone and most recently iOS7 – and were he to leave the company it would be a significant blow and would cause quite a stir in the tech community.

When a similar thing happened to SVP Bob Mansfield – he was removed from Apple’s website entirely – it was soon revealed, according to macrumors.com, that he was leaving the executive team to “work on special products and report directly to CEO Tim Cook”.

Is this just a technical error or is there more to the story? We’ll no doubt find out soon.
