With collaborations on his upcoming album, Fanfare, that include Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, David Crosby, and Father John Misty, the music from Jonathan Wilson not surprisingly invokes the beautiful, genuine and story-driven folk spirit of yore. His newest song, “Love to Love”, weaves twangy guitar licks, organs and vocal melodies sometimes reminiscent of Dylan, paying respect to Wilson’s influences without burying the track’s intricacies too deeply into their sound. With quick strumming and well-paced percussion, “Love to Love” sets a positive, nostalgic tone that’s worth repeat listens.
