You’re definitely going to want to check out Los Angeles quintet The Ross Sea Party (@therossseaparty). As their bio suggests, like the little known, yet heroic wing of Ernest Shackleton’s 1914 trans-Antarctic expedition (their namesake), they’re recognized for their “easy navigation across an ever-changing atmosphere.” With sweeping, spacious instrumentation and storytelling lyrics, “Thunder” is super catchy — our only complaint being that we have to keep hitting play again every two minutes and nine seconds. “Thunder” is the first single from The Ross Sea Party’s upcoming debut full-length album, Hotel Pool, the follow up to their 2010 Plains of Id EP. Hotel Pool comes out next month, so get excited!
